Frequently Asked Questions

How do hammer mills work?

A hammer mill is a type of grinder used to reduce material, in our case grain, into smaller pieces. It consists of two main parts: a rotating drum and a stationary grinding plate. As the drum rotates, the hammers strike the material forcing it to pass through the gap between the drum and the grinding plate or screen. This action causes the material to break down into small particles dependent on the size of the gap/holes of the grinding plate/screen.
